Description
Printed in 1968’s, original, size 21 x 30 ¼ inches, woodcut lithography ink color of an acid free on the handmade paper. Published by the Hankou Worker’s Rebellion Headquarters (HWRH), suite 401, Liberation Building, the province of Hubei, China. Attributed to the artist by the Mao Zedong Thought Combat Team. HWRH was the first workers rebel organization in Hubei established Nov. 10th
in 1966.
This is an early Chinese Great Proletariat Cultural Revolution (CGPCR, 1966 – 1976) poster, based on an article the Bombard the Headquarters – My Big Character Poster (August 5, 1966), what a short document written by Mao Zedong (1893 – 1976) and published in the Communist Party’s official newspaper People’s Daily on August 5, 1967 that a year later. It is commonly believed that this article “big –characters poster” directly targeted Chinese President Liu Shaoqi (1898 - 1969) and senior leader Deng Xiaoping (1904 - 1997) which marks the official start of the CGPCR.
The poster titled directly the Bombard the Headquarters, My Big-Character Poster, and subtitled Mao Zedong.
The background of the poster shows off a rebel group with the Reason of Rebel (Rebel is Judiciary) flag, and scroll of Big-Characters Poster.
