    Description

This poster printed in 1968’s, original, size 2 ½
x 30 inches, woodcut lithography ink color of an acid free on the handmade paper. Artist by Mao Zedong Thought Combat Team, issued by the Hankou Worker’s Rebellion Headquarters (HWRH), suite 401, Liberation Building, the province of Hubei, China. HWRH was the first workers rebel organization in Hubei established Nov. 10th in 1966
This is considered a Mao instruction poster, it based on an article by Chairman Mao (Mao Zedong, 1893 – 1976), published on April 15, 1958. The instruction can be seen as a further push for the Great Leap Forward (the Second Five Year Plan of People’s Republic of China, 1958 – 1962).
The poster titled a selected sentence from the Mao article that “I have never seen the people so energetic, high-spirited and vigorous as they are now”. This poster reprinted the sentence as Mao’s instruction to support the Down to the Countryside Movement (DCM, 1960’s – 1970’s) during the Great Chinese Proletarian Cultural Revolution (GCPCR, 1966 – 1976).
In addition, this is a very impressive and remarkable poster especially in the southern area of China. The background of the poster shows the tractors, ripe wheat ears, reservoir, power station, sun and red flags, and Mao’s inspection as prized the DCM.
Very good political propaganda artwork, very limited edition, remarkable and collectible, good condition. Reserve # C11968S0125189C. All rights reserved.
