In 1910, studied abroad in Paris and experienced Fauvism and Cubism. 1911 Moved to the collective atelier "La Rush" and interacted with Modigliani and Soutine. Married in 1915. Returned to his hometown and was elected to the People's Commissariat of Fine Arts. 1922 Exiled to Berlin and studied printmaking techniques. Published a collection of copper plate paintings for her virgin work "My Life". 1923 Moved to Paris by being invited by the painter Ambroise Vollard. 1925 Completed the copperplate art book "Dead Soul". 1954 Started work on color lithograph "Daphnis and Chloe". 1963 A retrospective exhibition is held at the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo and the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art. 1964 Completed the ceiling painting of the Opera House in Paris. 1973 The National Museum for Chagall, "The Message Museum of the Bible," opens. Received the Legion of Honor's highest medal from the French government in 1977. Died in 1985 at Saint Paul de Vence. 97 years old.
